Try Thai!

There are so many great places to eat in DC and many of them are just minutes from campus. If your looking for Thai food, there are two great options just around the corner. Charm Thai located at 2514 L Street NW, is just off Washington circle. Although best known for their Pad Thai, Charm Thai offers a variety of authentic dishes, ranging from garden rolls to Pad See Eaw. My personal favorites include Tom Yum Soup, which is a hot and sour lemongrass soup, and the Imperial Pad Thai, Charm Thai’s delicious Pad Thai wrapped in a thin egg omelet topped with shrimp. Charm Thai’s prices range from about $11-30 but luckily for us they accept GWorld. Yelp Elite user Samantha says it best “Whether it’s ordering out or dining in, Charm Thai never lets me down!” but don’t take our word for it, try it out for yourself!

Soi 38 located just off New Hampshire Avenue at 2101 L St NW, is putting a new twist on signature Thai dishes by offering “creative Thai street food”. While you can still find the classics like Pad Thai and Chicken Satay, you can also sample a variety of their specialties. These include everything from Kua Kling, which is a spicy southern style dried curry of Thailand, ground pork, fresh chili, lemongrass, garlic, to Som Tum, a green papaya, dried shrimp, string beans and cherry tomato salad. While Soi 38’s prices are comparable to Charm Thai they do not accept GWorld. However, Soi 38 is a great place to go if you are looking for a wonderful atmosphere, great service and chance to try something new!
